Florida Unclaimed Property

Finding your Florida unclaimed property is quite easy and can be done in a couple minutes. You find your money on FLTreasureHunt.org which is Florida's Bureau of Unclaimed Property home page. Below is a short tutorial to help you find your money.

Tutorial on Finding Your Florida Unclaimed Property

  1. Once on FLTreasureHunt.org you'll find the first of three boxes which says "Search Unclaimed Property." Click on that link.
  2. You'll then be on a page that gives you a list of steps to claim your property. We'll show you those steps. There is an info field box that requires you to type your last name or the name of the business that you are seeking property for. The individuals first name is optional but recommended to help narrow your search.
  3. Find your name next to an address that you lived at at one time and click the claim number to the left to review the claim account.
  4. If the information is familiar you then have four options depending on how you are claiming. The first is if you are the Original Owner. The second is if you are the Legal Heir to the Original Owner. The third is you are the Guardian of the Original Owner, and the fourth is if it belongs to your company.
  5. You'll then be presented with some helpful instructions that couldn't be contained in this short tutorial. At the bottom hit "continue."
  6. There will then be several fields which must be filled. Some fields are required to be filled like last name and address. "Save and continue" is at the bottom of the page.
  7. You will then see your current information along with the account that you are claiming. Click "get claim form." Two options are available to receive your claim form. The first, which is easiest, also depends on whether you have a printer. If so choose to print the claim form. You also need Adobe Reader to print the claim form. Adobe Reader is a free program that can be downloaded here. If you don't have a printer available you can choose to have the claim form mailed to the address that you provided. You are also provided a claim number which should be written down and saved.
  8. You are given more instructions which include needing a copy of a photo ID mailed with the claim and that the claim should be entirely filled out. At the bottom of the page there is a link that says "click here" which will print your claim form with Adobe Reader.
  9. Review the printed form and make sure it is signed and all the necessary info and documents are included. To receive your Florida unclaimed property mail the form to:
