It's rather easy to find your Missouri unclaimed money. The state of Missouri will enable you to track down your property and make a claim on it and we'll show you the easiest and quickest way to get this done. Just follow the tutorial below and claim your money.
Tutorial on Finding your Missouri Unclaimed Money
Once on the Missouri State Treasurer page scroll down to the middle of the page until you see a box entitled "Search the Unclaimed Property Database." You will then enter your last name followed by a space and either the first few letters of your first name or your entire first name, then click "Go."
A list of names with unclaimed property with then be returned in blocks of ten. If you don't see your name or claim on the first block of ten then click page 2 or 3 and so on depending on how many results there are with that name. The page numbers are on the bottom of the list.
Once you find your claim click "Select" to the left of it. You can select multiple claims to submit a claim for at one time. All the claims you select will just be added to a box that collects them and when you are satisfied you've claimed all the property that belongs to you click the button, "File a Claim" at the bottom.
The next page has you verify each individual claim that you entered in to the box belongs to you or that you are the rightful person to claim the property. You have to enter the information to verify the claim for each individual claim and finish by clicking the "Next" button for each claim.
Once you have finished verifying each property claim you will then enter some information including your first and last name, address, telephone number, and email address. You then have two options depending on your capabilities. If you have a printer select the first option and click "submit." This will create a printable form already filled out with all the information for the claim. This, of course, is the the easier and quicker way. If you have a printer go to File at the top of the page and select "Print" from that menu. If you don't have a printer then choose the second option and click "submit" and the form will be printed off at the Missouri State Treasurer office and mailed to you so that you can sign it and have it notarized and sent back.
The form must be signed and notarized and must include a copy of a valid driver's licence or state issued id and a copy of your Social Security card if your Social Security number is not on your id. You also must provide proof that the owner of the property lives or has lived at the address associated with the Missouri unclaimed money. This can be an old bill or bank statement or something like that.
