Click here to go to the page where you will start your search. There is a teal box on the left that will be used to search for property for an individual. The other two options are for searching for money that is owed to a deceased person or search for money that is owed to a business.
You then will be asked if you just want to search now or if you want to set up a user account. Setting up a user account will enable you to track your claim later after you've made a claim for some property. If you just want to search first then click "Just Search." You can always sign up for username later if you make a claim or plan to.
You'll then be asked again to search for an individual, deceased person, or business. For an individual you will enter your first, middle, and last name. It gives examples of all the ways that it will bring back results with the names given.
Then next page will ask you if you'd like help finding your property with your social security number. It is optional so you don't have to provide your social security number yet.
There will then be a list of states that individuals lived in at one time with the same name as you. Select the state or states that you also lived in at one time to narrow the search.
The next page lists the company you may have done business with in the past and that reported this unclaimed property. Select the company you have done business with in the past.
Now is when you must create an online account to be able to make a claim for the claim or claims in question. If you have already registered then sign in. You may also do another search if you don't believe that property is yours.
